Ellen started studying music at the academy of Blankenberge (Belgium) with Annemie Bourdon (piano), Karla Savat (chamber music) and Bald Wyntin (harmony).

She continued her musical education at the Ghent Conservatoire where she graduated as Master of Music with great distinction in the class of Johan Duijck.  Her main teachers there were Marcel Lequeux, Filip Rathé and John Whitelaw (chamber music).

After gaining her teachers degree, Ellen studied as a repetiteur at the International Opera Academy in Ghent (BE) , and at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire (Glasgow, UK).  Throughout those years she was mainly coached by Hein Boterberg, Ronny Lauwers, Tim Dean, Graeme McNaugt and Duncan Williams. 

During her training she followed Masterclasses from Sir Graham Johnson, Ann Murray, Malcolm Martineau, Arbo Valdma, Claire Chevalier and Laurent Boukobza.  She also had the privilege to work with several conductors such as Pietro Rizzo, Jef Smits, Yannis Pouspourikas, Dmitri Yurowsky, Alberto Zedda, Jan Schweiger and Filip Rathé.

Ellen currently works as a piano-teacher and as an accompanist for the STAP Roeselare Academy (BE).   She is frequently asked to work as repetiteur/accompanist for Operaballet Vlaanderen, VLAMO and the International Clarinettissimo Festival (Bruges, BE).

She worked several years as the accompanist for the singing classes of Loh Siew Tuan at the Flanders Operastudio and as a coach for the International Singing course from Zeger Vandersteene.   She has played for several cultural organisations such as LOD Ghent, Ghent Conservatoire, MusicHall, Conservatoire Tilburg. 

Ellen also loves to play chamber music and brings concerts on a regular basis with Stephan Vermeersch (clar., BE) and with Ineke Devylder (mezzo,BE).
